Christmas Lights

Christmas Lights

Friday 12th October 2012

The magic of Christmas is set to sparkle in Chelsea on Saturday10th November, with a festive celebration like no other.  The free event begins from 3pm with an exciting range of activities for both children and families to enjoy.

Head to the arts & crafts marquee for free  family-friendly  activities,  or  pop  down  to  Santa’s  Christmas  Grotto  from  5.30pm  to  meet  the season’s most popular individual in the flesh. Enjoy hot popcorn, mince pies or mulled wine whilst listening to Christmas carols led by the singer Natalie Coyle accompanied by the choir of Holy Trinity Church.

There will be horse and carriage rides from Duke of York Square around Sloane Square, and if you look around the Square carefully you may just see some real Reindeer! Remember to wrap up warm because snow will be falling across the Square through the afternoon!

Mr. Claus will be meeting little ones, telling stories, and giving away Christmas sweets to all who  visit  his  cosy  workshop.  Visitors  can  make  sure  Santa  remembers  their  wish  list  by posting letters in the magical Christmas post-box situated at Duke of York Square.

This year one lucky child can win the chance to create the magic and help turn on the Christmas lights that spectacularly illuminate the square from 5.15pm and open the magical grotto. Your little elf will then be the very first child into Father Christmas’s amazing grotto. Beat that for a magical start to Christmas!

To enter, simply tell us what your little elf would most like to find in their stocking by clicking on the link below -

Duke of York Square is delighted that this year’s festive events will be in support of the Princes Foundation for Children & The Arts, who will be helping with many of the fun arts activities on the day. So head on down and start this season with a festive bang, and a magical evening your loved ones will never forget.

The Christmas Grotto will be open on Saturday’s and Sunday’s from the 10th November and from Wednesday through Sunday’s from 1st December. Places are limited and advance booking on www.dukeofyorksquare.com is recommended. Online booking will be available from 29thOctober.
