Our new “phizz-whizzing” dream jar

Roald Dahl books have stood the test of time and continue to capture the imagination of both children and adults alike. We’re so excited for the upcoming film release of one of our all-time favourite “delumptious” stories, The BFG, which depicts the charming adventures of the Big Friendly Giant who captures children’s dreams and bottles them up into jars. Directed by Steven Spielberg, it’s sure to be a summer blockbuster hit.

To mark this release and to remind everyone of Dahl’s celebration of pure imagination throughout his life, we will be hosting our very own giant “splendiferous” dream jar, designed by a celebrity and standing at an impressive 6ft in the middle of the Square from 9 July to 31 August.

Part of a London wide trail which sees celebrities channel their very own childhood dreams through these installations, it’s believed that the BFG left the dream jars at iconic places throughout the city as he blew dreams for children ranging from “trogglehumpers” to “phizzwizzards”.

It’s been a ‘whoppsy’ big secret who our celebrity dreamer is up until now – but we’re delighted to reveal today that it’s fashion designer Henry Holland! Renowned for his fabulous prints and designs, Henry’s jar showcases the dreams he had to be a popstar as a youngster – you won’t want to miss it! We expect that this fun fashion sculpture will fit right in with the Square’s existing offering of shops and culture.

The sculptures will later be auctioned with proceeds going towards Save The Children and Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity.
