News & EventsSlowear arrives at the Square
This February, we welcome Slowear, Italian menswear, to the Square
‘Helix Noir’, has been designed by Thierry Noir, alongside Cancer Research UK, to raise awareness and money for the Francis Crick Institute. Noir is a key figure in the street art movement, credited as being the first artist to paint the Berlin Wall – covering it with bright, vivid colours and innocent forms. Noir’s work is held in many important public and private collections around the world.
‘Helix Noir’ is one of 21 such sculptures, each designed by a different artist and placed around London. The DNA Helix trail has been created to raise money for The Francis Crick Institute, a world-leading centre of biomedical research and innovation due to open in 2016. The sculptures will be auctioned at Christie’s on 30th September 2015 and all the money raised will go towards the £100million that Cancer Research UK has pledged to raise for the Crick.
