Happy Birthday Sir Hans Sloane!

It’s Sir Hans Sloane’s 356th birthday on the 16th April and to celebrate, the Hans Sloane chocolate company will be holding a free tasting session at the Square. Why not join in the fun and raise a cup to the original chocolatier?

Sir Hans Sloane spent his life travelling the world, including to Jamaica in 1687, where he first encountered the chocolate drink. He later discovered the bitter black liquid tasted much better with the additions of milk and sugar, and introduced this to the UK – in fact, this original recipe is still used by Cadbury today.

The team at Hans Sloane has been wowing us with their chocolate products for years, and to celebrate this special birthday, will be holding a free tasting session in the Square this Saturday 16th April. Pop down from 10am to 4pm for a tempting treat that’s bound to thrill your taste buds.
