Spring has sprung – finally – and nothing is more special than being able to dine alfresco; sunny days and longer evenings enjoying a glass of rose on the terrace with friends and family. Even better, the Square has a restaurant to suit every taste to spend your spring days dining, relaxing and people watching in the sunshine.
The Manicomio Café has recently had a refresh of its décor and delicious menu making it a must-visit. It would also be rude not to make the most of their happy hour (running between 5-8pm), which is perfect for an after-work tipple or two, or three… even harder to resist when you get a hold of their fresh new menu. Expect colourful dishes and fresh flavours, from burrata and zucchini to organic salmon crudo as part of their small plates offering to grilled yellow-fin tuna fillet burger and slaw to Tuscan sausage and smoked mozzarella macaroni. Sit outside the front and window-shop whilst you dine, or head out to the back for a more private space in their beautiful secluded courtyard.
Soak up the sunshine on the piazza with a feast from Comptoir Libanais and overlook happy shoppers laden with bags. Indulge in traditional Lebanese mezze followed by one of their unbeatable warm wraps to leave you not only feeling full and fuelled for an afternoon of shopping, but also content after your much-needed Vitamin-D hit.
Dreaming of a Mediterranean break? Escape to the terrace at Polpo, wrap up under a blanket and sip on Bellini whilst choosing from their selection of Venetian sharing plates. Bruschetta boards whilst you wait, including beetroot, dill and goats cheese or crab, celeriac, apple and capers are enough to whet your appetite before arrivals of mouth-watering meatballs or crab and chilli linguine are served in front of you. 
For those who are a fan of breakfast for every meal, The Black Penny should be your favourite haunt. Grab a fine Italian coffee and indulge in The Gatherer (eggs on sourdough with grilled halloumi, baby spinach, roasted tomatoes, mushrooms and black penny beans) or for those with a sweet tooth, Brioche French Toast (with whipped lemon ricotta, black cardamom sugar, blueberry compote, toasted almonds and honey) is definitely one to consider from the a breakfast-lovers dream menu.
For the culture fiend, spend the day browsing Saatchi Gallery’s latest exhibitions (expect the UK’s largest Kaleidoscope!) and stop off at Gallery Mess for a lunch-time feed or even a champagne afternoon tea; traditional sandwiches, warm scones and clotted cream, jam and seasonal cakes accompanied by a glass of fizz. Sit opposite the beautiful green running track and wile your afternoon in the most sophisticated, Chelsea way.
